President Trump on Dec. 31 signed a Proclamation to delay the anticipated Section 232 tariff increases for imports of upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities for another year.
Under the initial Sept. 29, 2025, presidential proclamation, the Section 232 tariff increases for imports of upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities were set to take effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on Jan. 1, 2026.
The current 25% import tariff on certain upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities, as imposed under the Sept. 25, 2025, Proclamation, however, remains in effect.
