The U.S. Commerce Department released its preliminary assessments on Jan. 1, which significantly lowered the provisional tariff rates established on Sept. 4 for Italian pasta imports from 91.74% to 2.26% for La Molisana, 13.98% for Garofalo, and 9.09% for the remaining 11 non-sampled producers.
The Commerce Department said it will provide interested parties an opportunity to comment on the post-preliminary analysis from its antidumping investigation into Italian pasta imports and will consider all information before issuing the final results of this review. The results are currently scheduled to be announced by the department on March 12, 2026.
“The re-determination of the tariff levels constitutes an acknowledgment by the U.S. authorities of the constructive cooperation shown by Italian companies. It also confirms the effectiveness of the support provided by the Italian Foreign Ministry and by the Italian Government from the outset, which will continue to be ensured in view of the final determinations,” the Italian government said in a Jan. 1 statement.
